My daughter comes home nearly every day with art work she’d created while spending the day at preschool, and I didn’t want any of it to go to waste.  The piles of paper stacking up went from figurative to literal “piles” which then turned to boxes.  Not having the heart to throw any of it away, I decided to store these digitally.  After storing them digitally, I then decided to share them with the world.  It’s her artwork, and she gets all the credit.  I’m simply a proud dad sharing the artwork my daughter is so excited to have created.  She’s sitting next to me now as I create this first post, organizing her photographic renditions of her art in WordPresse’s media library.

In all truth, her artwork is simply amazing.  She repeats certain shapes and objects that suggest Picasso-ish renditions, and she presents methods in some of her scribble art that demonstrates subtle influences of impressionist methods.  She isn’t trained in art, nor is she guided or instructed in any way (except for maybe coloring in the lines :).  These are all works of the heart.  But on closer look of her artwork, I feel that you can see some deliberate intent…even if that deliberate intent was by accident.  There is direction and movement in her scribble, intent in the shapes and objects she renders, and it’s entirely possible I’m looking too deeply into what she produces during art time at preschool.

This blog is all in the name of fun, and preservation of both the art and the daughter that I admire.
